Agency Spotlight Series: Aislinn Lloyd-Walsh

In this Orientation Marketing agency spotlight series, we speak to Account Director, Aislinn Lloyd-Walsh.

Occasionally, we speak to a member of the Orientation Marketing team to learn more about their roles at Orientation Marketing, as well as what makes them tick.

Today we speak to Aislinn.

Tell Us a Little Bit About Your Role At Orientation Marketing.

My role as an Account Director involves leading accounts with the support of the wider team (digital, PR/comms/ creative etc), liaising with clients, nurturing existing relationships and creating new ones.

My main duties are to ensure that the client's goals and objectives are met in a timely manner, within their budget and are achieving their KPIs. My role is to always be thinking of the bigger picture and to be continually trying to propose new ideas.

From an internal standpoint, I ensure that the wider team supporting on the accounts are well supported by having regular internal check ins to discuss project updates and any concerns or queries that they may have.

A typical day for me involves checking the finance systems to check up on invoices, payments and suppliers, checking in with the team (virtually and in person), going through Asana (Project Management tool), checking deadlines for any media bookings, following up with any necessary people and many client calls.

What is your favourite part of the working day?

My favourite part is when I have a client call where all of the working team are in the office together. All being in the same meeting room and bouncing off each other with ideas and strategy. It feels very rewarding when the client is on board and the call has been really positive, as this allows us to see the real value in what we do.

And also, when we’re all in the office having a natter about what somebody has watched on TV recently, or recent news events.

And, at 4:30 when Nyah always asks, ‘What’s everyone having for tea?’. (I always say something with mince!!)

What are the toughest challenges you’ve had at work?

Sometimes it feels like there isn’t enough hours in the day! But I am sure everyone feels like that!

Tell us about your best day at the agency so far...

I was lucky enough to be able to go to Pharmapack Paris in my first month of joining the agency. This was a great experience for me to speak to clients who I hadn’t met, speak to vendors and ultimately get to know this side of industry in more depth. Having been in med comms my entire career, it was a good chance to see the different side of pharma, all in one place. And of course, being able to go to Paris and get to know my new colleague, Anne (we had a great view of the Eiffel tower from our Airbnb!).

What inspires you?

Constant improvement. I believe there is always room to improve and do bigger and better. Whether that’s in work, or in my personal life, I always want to learn more and do better. Not only does it help myself, but it also helps others around me.

Recommend a TV series/film you recently watched.

Well, the ones I watch the most are: Schitt’s Creek, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or Salt Lake City (classic!), Vanderpump Rules, Benidorm and The Office US. I highly recommend all of them, easy to watch but still very entertaining.

How would you spend a million dollars in 24 hours?

IFirstly, I would contact a Hermès Birkin dealer and get a showroom set up so I can have my selection of Birkin and Kelly bags. Then I would fly first class to the Caribbean and rent a yacht with a crew (just like Below Deck, another great series to watch!). We would then travel around the Caribbean, on the super yacht. I’d also make sure to fly out a sommelier to be on the yacht with me, so that everything I ate and drank would be paired correctly with some of the best wines in the world- and champagnes.

What is the strangest meal you’ve ever eaten?

I ate Springbok when I was in South Africa at a game reserve. It’s not so much that it’s weird but it was pretty sad as there was Springbok all around us and then I was eating it. Not sure I’d do that again.

I also ate Kangaroo when I was in Dubai because it was the cheapest thing on the menu, surprisingly it wasn’t that bad, but I’m not sure it’d be my first choice!

What skill do you think everyone should learn?

I would say respect. No matter a person's job role, social status, or level of wealth, every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Also, emotional intelligence! From getting older in life, I feel like this is key!!

Also be kind, you never know what someone is going through.
